Milwaukee Brewers vs. San Francisco Giants, second game of the series, the Giants received a blow in the first game of visitors, the Brewers had no respect for Derek Holland and won the first game 4-2, also thanks to the almost perfect job of Chase Anderson. The Brewers had great confidence in the first game, also had already won another couple of series at home and that has raised the spirit of the team.
San Francisco Giants: We have a plan to win.
The Giants on the road have not had much luck this season, a negative record with 29 wins and 44 losses, 39.7% effectiveness. It is one of the worst seasons on the road for the Giants, before this series had not won a series since August 13 against the Dodgers, after that series everything was defeats after defeats. At least the work of pitchers in the mound has been good, the average allowed runs has been kept low and the defense has played well but loses the games. In the last 10 games the record is 2-8.
Chris Stratton in his third year as a professional with the Giants, this season has been one of the best for him compared to previous years, so far 9 wins and 8 losses with 4.90 ERA. The last victory of Stratton on the road was on June 17 against the Dodgers in the last game of that series 4-1.
Milwaukee Brewers: We have a new pitcher.
The Brewers at home have a solid, positive record with good numbers, 43 wins and only 27 defeats, 61.4% effectiveness. The team is in a good position to reach the playoffs, but they have to win all the remaining games of the season, if they lose one or two it could be fatal to record 80-62 overall. Before this series against the Giants, the team won against the Cubs, Pirates and Reds. This year’s project with new players and better strategy has given good results, the record in the last 10 games is 7 wins and 3 losses.
Gio Gonzalez was traded by the Nationals recently, is a dangerous move by the Nats but flattering for the Brewers. Gio with the Nats this year left a record of 7 wins and 11 losses, it was not the best time for him in the season, but last year he closed with 15-9. Their adaptation is expected to be slow but keep the ERA at 4.57 or less as it has been to date.
