Of those eight victories, seven were against the Rangers. Those series were pending for things related to the coronavirus. The victories against the Rangers were a relief for the Mariners. Previously, at the beginning of the season the team had lost 7 of 9 games.
At home the Mariners are hitting an average of 4.14 runs, 3.10 walks, 8.29 strikeouts, 1.05 home runs, 6.71 hits and 12.71 left on base. The team allows 4.57 runs, 3.38 walks, 8.71 strikeouts, 6.95 hits, and 1.48 home runs at home. The numbers at home improved quite a bit after the victories against the Rangers. But the Mariners need a couple more wins to move up the division.
Ljay Newsome will open the game against the Giants. Newsome is in his first year as a professional. Margevicius was expected to be available tonight, but this is not confirmed.
