Seattle Mariners vs. Baltimore Orioles, second game of the series. Last night the Mariners gave a good game winning the first of the series with the Orioles. It was not the best victory, but it was enough to win. From the start of the game, the Mariners proved willing to win. The Orioles lost but the offensive tried to do something to win by scoring the first run of the game.

Seattle Mariners: We want to win again.

The Mariners at home have a negative record with 15 wins and 24 losses. The problem at home continues to get worse and this last victory does not improve anything. At least the Mariners already have two consecutive victories at home. Before this series they lost a series against the Royals, but they won the last game 8-2.

At home the Mariners are scoring an average of 4.77 runs per game, 3.82 walks, 7.74 hits, 1.51 home runs, 14.15 left on base. The defense allows up to 6.41 runs at home, 3.44 walks, 8.10 strike outs, 10.00 hits, 1.69 home runs, 14.95 left on base. In the last series at home the Mariners allowed up to 17 runs in three games.

Mike Leake will open the second game of the series. This season has not been negative for him but neither the best. 6-6 so far in 15 games as a starter. 4.14 ERA, 95.2 pitched innings, 101 hits, 51 runs, 22 home runs, 69 strike outs, 1,223 WHIP. The last game at home was a win for Leake 14-1 against the Astros.

Baltimore Orioles: We are just like them.

The Orioles have a negative record on the road, almost the same as the Mariners. So far 12 victories and 26 defeats. Last night was the fifth consecutive loss. Before this series they were swept by the Athletics 3-0 and lost to the Astros 2-1. In the last 10 games on the road the record is 2-8. The Orioles do not win a series on the road since April.

On the road the Orioles are scoring an average of 3.79 runs, .58 walks, 7.89 hits, 1.03 home runs, 13.24 left on base. The defense allows up to 5.55 runs per game, 3.68 walks, 7.89 strike outs, 8.66 hits, 1.63 home runs, 13.55 left on base. In the last six games on the road the Orioles could barely score 14 runs.

Sean Gilmartin will be available tonight to play the Mariners on the mount. So far 1-1 in 12 games. 3.00 ERA, 27.0 pitched innings, 23 hits, 9 runs, 4 home runs, 15 strike outs, 1,259 WHIP. This will be the first Gilmartin on the road game this season.
