Seattle Mariners vs. Detroit Tigers, second game of the series. The Tigers last night couldn’t do anything to avoid being humiliated in Seattle. The home team conquered the second consecutive victory at home. The Mariners allowed only a couple of runs and won the game with double figures. Tonight is expected to be practically the same panorama of the first game. The Tigers have been a total disappointment this season, and there is still a lot of baseball next month.
Seattle Mariners: We want to show power.
The Mariners are sure they can win this series. But to do that they have to win at least three games. J.P Crawford was the best Mariners player in the first game with three runs, two hits and an RBI. The Mariners won the game 10-2, also used only three pitchers. Erik Swanson, Wade LeBlanc, and Sam Tulvailala.
At home the Mariners are scoring an average of 5.00 runs per game, 3.69 walks, 9.89 strike outs, 1.51 home runs, 14.11 left on base. In the first game of the series the Mariners allowed five hits to the Tigers, and the team made two mistakes. The offensive scored 9 hits and the best inning was the fifth with five runs for the Mariners.
Yusei Kikuchi will be starter for the second game of the series. This is his first year as a professional. So far the season has been negative with four wins and seven losses in 21 games as a starter. The last game was a defeat for Kikuchi against Angels 3-9.
Detroit Tigers: We are a disappointment.
The Tigers have one of the worst season in years. Last night was the fifth consecutive loss this month. The losing streak could continue to grow if the team does not strive to win games. Only two victories in July. Last night the domain was total home team. The Tigers have not won a series since May against the Orioles.
On the road the Tigers are scoring an average of 3.94 runs per game, 2.96 walks, 10.33 strike outs, 8.18 hits, 1.14 home runs, 15.00 left on base. The defense last night allowed 10 runs against the Mariners. In the last series on the road against the Indians, the team allowed 29 runs in four games.
Daniel Norris will be at the mount tonight for the second game. Fifth year with the Tigers. This season has been negative for him as almost all. Two wins, 10 losses in 17 games as starter. 5.02 ERA, 100.1 pitched innings, 119 hits, 59 runs, 17 home runs, 82 strike outs and 1445 WHIP.
