Toronto Raptors vs. Golden State Warriors, NBA Finals game 5. The Raptors are one victory away from the title. The dream is about to become a reality in Canada. The Raptors took a hard hit by winning the two games on the road. But the Warriors can still work miracles. The strategy is simple, win four more games. But the Raptors are unlikely to stop playing as well as they have done so far.
Toronto Raptors: We can do it.
The Raptors at home are about to close the season with the title of NBA champions. At home all season the record was positive. During the playoffs and finals they lost only three games. The Warriors won the second game of the finals, but surely that is already overcome. The great advantage the raptors have had was the absence of Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson in the fourth game.
At home the Raptors won the first game of finals 118-109. The home team won three of four quarters. Most quarters for more than 2.5+ points. The third quarter as it usually happens was victory for the Warriors. At home the average points is still 108.4 points per game, and the defense allows up to 98.0 points.
As underdogs at home the Raptors won a single game this season in the playoffs. The second game against the Bucks, the home team was underdog with +2.5 and they won 120-102. Against the Warriors in the first two games at home the team was favorite with -1.5 points in the spread. Tonight they will be favorites again.
Golden State Warriors: The solution is Durant.
The Warriors are in a dangerous situation. 3-1 is not easy, it is one of the worst scenarios in some finals. Now the only objective of the Warriors is to win the next two games to reach the seventh. Kevin Durant may be available for this fifth game, but it is a last-minute decision. The most likely play for tonight is Klay Thompson, although he said he still feels discomfort in his leg.
The two home games the Warriors were outclassed in almost every quarters. In the third game the Raptors were more effective in the field goal with 62.80% versus 46.20% of the home team. The fourth game the Raptors won 102-95, and the Warriors could barely win the first quarter by six points. On the road the Warriors are scoring an average of 116.8 points per game, 42.50 FG points and the defense allows up to 110.9 points on the road.
The record is not negative on the road, seven wins and only three losses so far. In the two games with the Raptors in Canada the team was underdog with +1.5 in each game. Tonight the team will be underdog again and probably lose the game without Durant or Thompson.
