The Western Conference Finals continue as the Portland Trail Blazers will clash with the Golden State Warriors in game 2 of the series. The Warriors were the better team in the first game as they won with a score of 116-94.
Portland Trail Blazers Form
The Trail Blazers were playing well through the season. Moreover, they had to fight hard in order to pass through the Nuggets to ge to this series with the Warriors. However, they were not able to put serious resistance in the first game as they were defeated with a score of 116-94. Damian Lillard was the main player for Portland as he scored 19 points and 6 assists in the defeat.
On the offensive side of the game, the Trail Blazers score an average of 109.8 points per game. Also, they have an average of 46.7 rebounds combined with 18.5 assists per night.
On the defensive side of the game, the Trail Blazers concede an average of 110.3 points per game.
Golden State Warriors Form
The Warriors once again have the upper hand in the finals. Moreover, this Golden State team has been in commanding form throughout the season. And it seems that they will remain consistent until the end. The Warriors started this series strongly as they defeated Portland in a convincing way. They were without their talisman Kevin Durant but Stephen Curry stepped up as he led the team with 36 points in the win.
Now, they will be aiming to take a 2-0 lead in this series.
On the offensive side of the game, the Warriors score an average of 117.9 points per game. And this is the 1st result in the league in scoring during the postseason.
Also, they have an average of 42.8 boards per contest with 28.4 assists a night.
On the defensive side of the game, the Warriors concede an average of 110.8 points a night.
Prediction
The dilemma here is how much will the Warriors miss Kevin Durant in this game. It is safe to say that they did compensate for that in the first game with Stephen Curry and their bench players stepping up. On the other side, Portland needs to win this game in order to get back into the series. However, it will be hard for them in San Francisco. The Warriors are a strong team at home and therefore, I expect a tight win for Golden State in this one.
