Green Bay Packers vs. San Francisco 49ers, National Football Conference. Last week was negative for both teams. The 49ers lost on the road in Seattle after winning two consecutive weeks. The Packers lost at home to the Vikings last week with defensive problems. Tonight they are both hungry for a win, but the home team will have a slight advantage.
Green Bay Packers: Poor week.
The Packers so far continue to dominate the NFC North at 5-2-0. Last week they lost at home to the worst team in the division, the Vikings 22-28. It is inexplicable how the Packers lost to the Vikings but that game is history. The offensive problems due to the lack of WR’s have made the team not have a better offensive efficiency. But for now, all that remains is to think about how to win against the 49ers.
The team is scoring an average of 31.29 points per game, 27.29 rushes with 128.86 rush yards, 23.43 completed passes and 265.71 pass yards. The defense allows up to 26.71 points per game, 25.57 rushes and 119 rush yards. The team is most dangerous in the first two quarters with 16.71 points on average. But in the second half the Packers can score up to 15 points.
Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks of the season. But Rodgers is looking to improve the offensive attack. 65.86% effectiveness, 1948 yards, 20 touchdowns and 2 inteceptions, 113 overall rating. Against the Vikings, Rodgers had the second best of the season at home, but it wasn’t enough to win.
San Francisco 49ers: Ready to defend our home.
The 49ers know they need to win, the team is playing in the best division of the season. But with a record of 4 wins and 4 losses. The 49ers’ problem is that they haven’t won “easy” games this season. Back-to-back losses to the Eagles and Dolphins were highly criticized. But somehow the team won against the Rams and Patriots to get out of the bad streak. Last week the team lost to division leader Seattle Seahawks 27-37.
So far the 49ers are scoring an average of 26 points per game, 28 rushes with 127 rush yards, 23.25 completed passes and 251.63 pass yards. Up to 14.38 points at home during the first half. It’s a good average, but at home the record is 2-2-0. The defense allows up to 21.63 points per game, 26.25 rushes with 105.63 rush yards and 20.63 completed passes.
Jimmy Garoppolo knows what it’s like to win against the Packers. Last season the 49ers won twice against the Packers, in November 37-8 and January 37-20. Until now Jimmy will not play against the Packers because of his ankle injury. It is not sure if Jimmy will have surgery or wait to recover. Nick Mullens will probably be the starting quarterback tonight.
